[5] koi dance & falling of spring

when: late october 2017, mid january 2018?
what: linocut; ink on paper 9x12"
why: these were from the printing unit in my intermediate class. with linocuts, you carve into a tile of linoleum and spread ink on top, then you press prepared paper over it. the parts you don't carve get the ink. i LOVED making these
fate: there are 3 prints of the koi and 2 of the waterfall. one of the koi went to hanna, the rest is.. ?

when: late january 2018
what: drypoint; ink on paper 11x14"
why: this was from the printmaking unit in my intermediate art class. a drypoint piece is made by engraving an image on a polished metal plate with a diamond tipped (or something hard) engraver. then, you spread ink all over the plate, remove the excess so that only the engraved parts have ink, then putting it through a press with specially prepared paper. i hated making this.
fate: 2 of this print exists, 1 of them somewhere at a dump
